چکیده

Electric infrastructures have been pushed forward to handle tasks they were not originally designed perform. To improve reliability and efficiency, state-of-the-art power grids include improved security, reduced peak loads, increased integration of renewable sources, lower operational costs. In this framework, “smart grids” are built around bidirectional communication technologies, where meters” communicate with all other entities collect data from the grid, offering specific features each actor playing in energy marketplace. article, overcome some challenges raised by smart meters, we propose a distributed metering infrastructure, which provides communication, self-configuration, autoupdate capabilities. Our 3-phase meters follow basics Internet Things principles ability run, either onboard or on network, multiple algorithms for grid management. These can be freely added, updated, removed fly, thanks feature system. Moreover, reduce costs scalability, prove that it is possible implement our using only off-the-shelf inexpensive hardware devices. A digital real-time simulator (i.e., Opal-RT) has used assess capabilities both infrastructure meter. experimental analysis shows latency introduced transmission over compliant limits imposed IEC 61850 standard. As consequence, architecture does affect status making viable solution support deployment novel services.
